Another Interview

July 25, 2008

I’ve just done an interview about my work & experiences as a young photographer with artist & blogger Claudio Parentela. You can read it here: http://coward33sneeze15.blogspot.com/. There is a huge variety of work on Claudio’s numerous blogs, so have a look around and see if there’s anything that catches your eye. Here are three others to start you off:

So I’ve finally gotten around to dipping into that huge pile of postcards and business cards that’s been sitting on my desk since Free Range, and as promised I’m going to start posting about some of my favourite work from the show. First up: Peter Watkin’s series Hope of Additional Light/Now We See A Darkness.

Watkin’s website seems pretty bare at the moment, and I couldn’t find any information about this series but nevertheless I’m struck by the weird, garish beauty of these photographs. I really liked the asymmetrical hanging too. No wonder they were chosen for the University of Westminster posters.

Messy

July 14, 2008

For the next couple of days at least my website is going to be a bit messy and there could be more than a few broken links littering the place. Sorry about that. I’m going through a bit of an overhaul as far as layout goes, but it’ll look better when I’m done. I promise…

This is fairly late notice but for those of you who are going to be in Liverpool over the next couple of weeks might want to check out the Up & Coming exhibition at CUC Northwest. Several prints from Fragments are being shown, along with Luke’s portraits and a whole host of other young artists and recent graduates from around the UK.

The Up & Coming website is not up and running as I type this, but I’m told it should be online soon: http://www.upandcoming.org/
